Master Plan Updates
Thank You!

Thank you for your participation in the Master Plan process. The 2021 Plan guides the future development of three parks—the James City County Recreation Center Park, Upper County Park and the Warhill Sports Complex—over the next ten years and beyond. We received more than 175 comments from the citizen engagement portion of the process, and have incorporated that input into the final plan. The plans are scheduled for adoption by the James City County Board of Supervisors in January. Improvements will be completed based on community and citizen needs as well as available funding. You can continue to review the proposed changes online.

The Shaping Our Shores (SOS) Master Plan received unanimous approval by the James City County Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors. The 2019 Plan guides the  revitalization of three of James City County’s waterfront park facilities–Chickahominy Riverfront Park, Jamestown Beach Event Park and the James City County Marina.
