Tactical Field Force TeamThe James City County Police Department’s Tactical Field Force is primarily responsible for responding to pre-planned events and/or demonstrations for crowd control/visible police presence. Additionally, they respond to any incident which has a propensity for crowd violence, which through containment and specialized tactics would more likely be resolved without injury or loss of life. The Tactical Field Force may be called upon on short notice for unexpected crowds and unlawful assemblies, to oversee and assist in lost-person searches or other situations where specialized tactics may be necessary. Specialized training includes less lethal force options.
